Draws and Daily Schedule for Gator Fall Classic Released

The women's tennis singles and doubles draws, in addition to the daily schedule, for the 2008 Gator Fall Classic were released on Thursday. Friday's action begins at 9 a.m., as opposed to 8 a.m., which was originally posted. Saturday's and Sunday's matches get underway at 8 a.m. Admission is FREE.
Fans can download the draw sheets on www.GatorZone.com, the official website of the Florida Gators, by simply going to the Women's Tennis homepage and clicking the "Pre-Match Notes (PDF)" button inside the alltel Gator Game Day box located along the right-hand side of the page. The draws will be updated at the end of each day.
This weekend's event is the first tournament of the season for members of the 2008-09 Gator squad, which returns three members from last year's NCAA Semifinal team that posted a 24-3 record and finished No. 5 in the final ITA rankings.
2008 Doubles All-Americans Megan Alexander (Dallas, Texas) and Marrit Boonstra (The Netherlands) and 2007 Singles All-American Anastasia Revzina (Russia) were instrumental members of Florida's success last season and all three earned a place in the preseason national singles rankings. Revzina leads the way at No. 66, followed by Boonstra at No. 67 and Alexander at No. 70. The Gator pair of Alexander and Boonstra earned the No. 6 preseason national doubles ranking.
The two new faces on UF's 2008 Fall roster are Joanna "Jo" Mather (Duluth, Ga.) and Barbara Pinterova (Slovakia) and both are expected to compete and get their first taste of collegiate action this weekend.
The 2008 Gator Fall Classic features athletes from Florida, UCF, Kentucky, Notre Dame and South Florida.

- All doubles matches are 8-game pro-sets
- Each competitor will play at least one singles match per day
