Florida's Ameera Abdullah Earns TopDrawer Soccer.com National Team of the Week Honors

Senior All-American Ameera Abdullah (Denver, Colo./Smoky Hill H.S.) is part of the TopDrawer Soccer.com National Team of the Week, the outlet announced Monday afternoon. She is the second Gator to be named to the TopDrawerSoccer.com national team of the week in 2008, joining goalkeeper Katie Fraine who was part of the Sept. 8 list.
Abdullah scored Florida's first two goals in Sunday's 5-1 win versus Tennessee. The two goals marked the fourth multi-goal match of her Gator career and pushed her to 53 career points off of 20 goals and 13 assists. She is the 14th Gator to pass the 50-career points mark in the program's 14-year history.

She is tied for second among the 2008 Gators with 10 points off of three goals and a team-leading four assists.
Next up, No. 16 Florida (7-2-1, 2-0 SEC) continues action versus SEC Eastern Division rivals when it travels to meet Vanderbilt (6-3-1, 0-2 SEC) on Friday, Oct. 3. Match time is set for 8 p.m. (ET) at the Vanderbilt Soccer Complex. The match can be heard on WRUF-AM 850 with Sean Houston calling the action.
