Two Former Gators Clinch WNBA Playoff Spots, Third in the Hunt

The WNBA enters its final week of the regular season and two former Gators have secured a spot in the playoffs, while another remains in the hunt for the fourth and final spot in the Western Conference.
The Los Angeles Sparks, featuring former Gator All-Americans DeLisha Milton-Jones and Murriel Page, clinched a playoff berth with a 19-13 overall record, including an 11-8 mark in Western Conference action. The Sparks have two games remaining in the regular season, playing host to Atlanta on Thu., Sept. 11 (NBA TV), before entertaining Seattle on Sun., Sept. 14 (ESPN2).
Former UF standout Bridget Pettis is an assistant coach for the defending WNBA champion Phoenix Mercury, who are still in the playoff hunt with a 15-16 overall record and trailing Sacramento (17-14) by two games with three games left. The Mercury play at Detroit on Tue., Sept. 9 (ESPN2), at Minnesota on Fri., Sept. 12 and then at Indiana on Sun., Sept. 14.
Former Gator Vanessa Hayden and the Minnesota Lynx have been eliminated from the playoffs, sporting a 14-17 overall record. The Lynx close out their season hosting Indiana on Tue., Sept. 9 and Phoenix on Sept. 12, before traveling to Washington on Sun., Sept. 14.
