Ten Gator Soccer Players on SEC Fall Academic Honor Roll

Ten members of the University of Florida soccer team were named Wednesday to the 2008-09 Southeastern Conference Fall Academic Honor Roll by league commissioner Mike Slive. The 2008-09 SEC Fall Academic Honor Roll is based on grades from the 2008 Spring, Summer and Fall terms.
The league announced the names for the football, soccer and volleyball SEC Fall Academic Honor Rolls. Senior co-captain Megan Kerns is one of three Gators to earn a 4.0 grade point average for the year. The others were Kelsey Bowers (volleyball) and Robert Kane (football).
To be recognized to the SEC Academic Honor Roll, each student-athlete must
· Have a GPA of 3.00 for either the preceding academic year or have a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or above at the nominating institution
· Be on scholarship, a letterwinner or have participated on a varsity team for two years if non-scholarship
· Have completed 24 semester hours of non-remedial credit at the nominating institution
· Have been a member of the varsity team for the sport's entire NCAA Championship segment
