Gators in the NFL - Week 7

There were 27 former University of Florida football players that saw action in week seven in the National Football league, with eight former Gators earning starting positions.
NFL Gator Stats:
· DE Alex Brown, Chicago – started and made five tackles in a losing effort against Cincinnati; leads the team with six tackles-for-loss on the season
· WR Andre Caldwell, Cincinnati – had one reception for seven yards and two returns for 23 yards in the Bengals' 45-10 defeat of the Chicago Bears
· OT Cooper Carlisle, Oakland – started at right guard for the Raiders
· LB Channing Crowder, Miami – had four tackles in the Dolphins 34-46 loss to the Saints; fourth on the Dolphins with 22 tackles this season
· RB Earnest Graham, Tampa Bay – started at fullback but did not register a stat as the Bucs lost to the Patriots 35-7
· QB Rex Grossman, Houston – did not play against San Francisco
· WR Percy Harvin, Minnesota – started for the Vikings and had his second kickoff return for a touchdown on the season, this time an 88-yard TD that brought Minnesota within one score of Pittsburgh late in the fourth quarter; finished the day with 42 yards on three receptions, seven yards on his only rush attempt and 167 return yards on five attempts; his 29.8 yard average on kickoff returns ranks first in the NFL and his 685 return yards ranks fourth and he is the only player with two kickoff return TDs
· DE Ray McDonald, San Francisco – played but did not record a stat in the Niners 21-24 loss to the Houston Texans
· DE Bobby McCray, New Orleans – played but did not record a stat as the Saint preserved their undefeated record with a 46-34 comeback win over Miami
· WR Louis Murphy, Oakland – started and led the Raiders in receiving with four receptions and 58 yards in the 0-38 loss to the New York Jets; second on the team in receptions (16), receiving yards (232) and receiving touchdowns (1)
· LB Mike Peterson, Atlanta – started for the Falcons, recording four tackles in a losing effort against the Dallas Cowboys; third on the team with 40 tackles and leads the team with four tackles-for-loss
· CB Keiwan Ratliff, Pittsburgh – made one tackle in the 27-17 win over the Vikings
· DT Ian Scott, San Diego – played but did not register any statistics against the Chiefs
· CB Lito Sheppard, N.Y. Jets – was not activated due to an injured quadriceps
· LB Brandon Siler, San Diego – made four tackles as the Chargers easily defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 37-7
· OT Max Starks, Pittsburgh – started at left tackle in the Steelers victory over Minnesota
· RB Fred Taylor, New England – sat out week seven due to an ankle injury; second on the team with 201 yards on 45 carries
· DT Gerard Warren, Oakland – started and made one tackle against the Jets
· RB DeShawn Wynn, Green Bay – sat out due to a knee injury
The following players had bye weeks:
· Andra Davis, Jabar Gaffney, Jarvis Moss and Marcus Thomas of the Denver Broncos travel to play the Baltimore Ravens in Week 7. The game is at 1:00 pm on CBS.
· Derrick Harvey and Reggie Nelson of the Jacksonville Jaguars return to action in when they play the Tennessee Titans. CBS will air the game at 4:05 pm.
· The Tennessee Titans and Jevon Kearse host the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 7.
· Marquand Manuel and the Detroit Lions play the St. Louis Rams at 1:00 pm this Sunday.
