ESPN's College GameDay To Originate From The Swamp Saturday
Saturday, November 21, 2009 | Football
ESPN announced on Saturday that its College GameDay show and ESPN Radio's College GameDay show will emanate from Ben Hill Griffin Stadium next weekend, the site of the Florida-Florida State game in The Swamp. The top-ranked Gators (11-0) and the Seminoles (6-5) will meet at 3:30 p.m. on CBS. This will be the eighth time that UF and FSU have been part of the featured matchup, most of any that the program has covered. The show will be broadcast from the grass outside the North End Zone of Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.
Florida will be making its 31st appearance on GameDay, a figure that leads the nation. This will be the program's first appearance in Gainesville since Sept. 6, 2008, a 26-3 Florida victory over Miami (Fla.). UF's most recent appearance on the program was a 13-3 triumph over No. 4 LSU in Baton Rouge on Oct. 10 of this season.
Since 1993, College GameDay has been television's definitive and comprehensive college football studio show and has traveled most weeks on college Saturdays to the day's big game and has been met by large and enthusiastic crowds. The two-hour program with host Chris Fowler and analysts Lee Corso, Kirk Herbstreit and Desmond Howard airs live on ESPN each Saturday at 10 a.m. The show covers all college football angles, issues and game previews.
