Time Set for UF W-Basketball Season Opener; Football Viewing to Follow

Gator fans can enjoy a unique doubleheader in the O'Connell Center on Sat., Nov. 14, when the University of Florida women's basketball team hosts Stetson in its 2009-10 season opener at 1 p.m., followed by a videoboard telecast of the Gator football team's 3:30 p.m. game against South Carolina.
General admission tickets for the basketball game are $1, with reserved seating still $5. Gates will open at noon for the 1 p.m. game, and fans must arrive by 2 p.m. in order to remain for the football game viewing, where the game will be broadcast on four large video screens, with the atmosphere of the Gator pep band, cheerleaders, Dazzlers and more enhancing the event. The concession stands will remain open and have select items available for $1.
As an added reward, fans attending the women's basketball game on Nov. 14 will receive a 2-for-1 admission coupon good for the men's basketball game on Sun., Nov. 15 against Stetson at 4 p.m. On Sunday, UF students are invited to a pre-game cookout outside of Gate 3 at 1 p.m. and the first 2,500 fans at the men's game will receive free t-shirts!
The Gator Women's Basketball team continues its early-season schedule when it battles in-state rival FSU on Tuesday, November 17th at 7 PM. The first 500 fans receive free t-shirts courtesy of Tobacco Free Florida, as well as free Domino's lava cake coupons. Fans who bring in two or more canned food items to donate to the Bread of the Mighty food bank will get free admission to the game as well.
