No. 5 Gators Hit the Road For Georgia Fall Invite
Thursday, December 3, 2009 | Men's Swimming & Diving
Both University of Florida swimming and diving programs will hit the road for the last competition of the fall season Friday when the No. 4 men's squad and the No. 5 women will head to Athens, Ga., for competition at the Georgia Fall Invitational. The meet will serve as valuable experience for postseason competition, as the Bulldogs are slated to host the 2009 SEC Championship Meet in mid-February.
The Gators are coming off a week and a half training period after both defeated in-state rival Florida State, Nov. 24, at home in Gainesville. With the victories over the Seminoles, Florida improved to 5-2 overall in women's dual meet action, while the fourth-ranked UF men chalked a win to elevate to 4-0 following the FSU dual.
The three-day meet at the Gabrielsen Natatorium will span Dec. 4-6 and Gator fans can follow meet action live here. Florida will enter a winter training period free of competition following its trip to Athens, before the UF divers swing back into action at the Georgia Diving Invitational, Jan. 3-5, 2010, following the holidays.
