Aneika Henry One of 44 Gator Student-Athletes to Receive Degree This Weekend
Thursday, April 30, 2009 | Women's Basketball
Aneika Henry of the Florida women's basketball team is one of 44 Gator student-athletes who will receive their undergraduate degree this weekend, as commencement ceremonies take place throughout the campus.
During her two-year career at UF, the Coconut Grove, Fla., native blocked 110 shots which ranks sixth all-time. She also shot a steady 53.7 percent from the floor during her Gator tenure and posted eight career double-figure scoring games and two double-figure rebounding games. Even more remarkable was that Henry had never played an organized sport - including basketball - until the ninth grade, when she was spotted in the halls of Coral Gables Senior High School by a coach, who taught her the game.
Henry will receive a Bachelor of Science degree in Family, Youth & Community Sciences with a minor in Education, as 13 different Gator sports teams will be represented during this graduation period.
