Eight Gator Football Players to Take Part in Commencement Ceremonies

Eight current and former Gator football players will join 40 other UF student-athletes as they earn their degrees from the University of Florida Friday, May 1, through Sunday, May 3, as commencement ceremonies take place throughout the Gator campus.
The Gator football players lead the way this spring for UF student-athletes, joining women's track and field and cross country, as sports with eight graduates each.
Among the football student-athletes, former Florida kicker Joey Ijjas (Clearwater, Fla.) will earn his Bachelor of Arts in Architecture. Ijjas saw action in 12 games during the Orange and Blue's national title run in 2006. Senior Kestahn Moore (Arlington, Texas), who signed a free agent contract with the Denver Broncos following the 2009 NFL Draft, will earn his degree in Sport Management after helping lead the Gators to the 2008 FedEx BCS National Championship Title.
Gator offensive lineman Jason Watkins (Lakeland, Fla.) joins Moore in walking in commencement ceremonies after also helping Florida to both the 2006 & 2008 national titles.
In addition to Ijjas, Moore and Watkins, graduates John Curtis (Rockledge, Fla.), Andrew Johnson (Parkland, Fla.) and Eric Rutledge (Gainesville, Fla.) were all members of the 2006 Gator national championship squad, all earning national titles during their tenure as a student-athletes at UF.
