Incoming Freshman Caroline Chesterman Invited to US Developmental Team Second Round Tryout

Incoming freshman midfielder Caroline Chesterman of South Nyack, N.J., is among the 64 players advancing to the second round of tryouts for the 2009-10 U.S. Women's Developmental Team. The players were selected from more than 150 players who participated in the US Lacrosse Women's Division National Tournament held over Memorial Day weekend at Cedar Lane Sports Park in Bel Air, Md.
The second round of tryouts will be held August 1-2 at the University of Maryland - Baltimore County.
Chesterman is part of a heralded incoming freshman class that includes six players who are part of the Under Armour® All-America rosters. Five signees are on the Under Armour Girls South Team – Kitty Cullen (Rockville, Md.), Brittany Dashiell (Bel Air, Md.), Sam Ferrell (Millersville, Md.), Haydon Judge (Chestertown, Md.) and Colby Rhea (Abingdon, Md.). Janine Hillier (Farmingdale, N.Y.) is part of the North team. They will play in the fourth annual Under Armour All-America Lacrosse Classic on Saturday, June 27 at Towson University's Johnny Unitas Stadium in Towson, Md.
The U.S. women's national team, which includes UF Assistant Coach Erica LaGrow, is currently gearing up for the Federation of International Lacrosse World Cup, which will be held from June 18-27 in the Czech Republic.
The Florida lacrosse team begins play in 2010. The first home game is set for Feb. 20, 2010 versus Jacksonville at the Florida Lacrosse Facility.
