Nelson Pitches Two Innings in USA's Second Win

Recent University of Florida senior Stacey Nelson (Los Alamitos, Calif.) recorded two innings of relief work in the USA's 12-0, five-inning win over Italy (0-3) in its second game of pool play of the KFC World Cup.
Nelson relieved Katie Burkhart, who worked three complete innings, allowing one hit and striking out four. The former Gator entered the game in the third with the 12-run lead and did not allow a hit or run but struck out one.
The Americans (2-0) return to action today at 1 p.m. (EST) when they face Canada (1-0). They wrap up their day with a matchup against Japan (1-1) at 8 p.m. (EST). Both games can be seen on ESPN.
