USA W-U19 Team Downs Japan; Advances to World Championships Medal Quarterfinals

Playing its third game in as many days, the USA connected on 10 3- pointers, shooting 52.6 percent (10-of-19) from beyond the arc.
The United States placed six players in double-figure scoring, led by Taber Spani's game-high 15 points, including three 3-pointers. The USA, which shot 52.3 percent (45-of-86) from the field, out-rebounded Japan 49- 28.
Boasting a 5-1 record, the U.S. advances as the No. 2 seed out of Group F and will face France (3-3), the No. 3 seed from Group E, in the July 31 medal quarterfinals (4:15 a.m. EDT). Semifinal games are scheduled for Aug. 1 and the gold medal will be contested on Aug. 2.
