Former Gator Joseph Moves On In 800m at Worlds

Former Florida middle-distance runner Moise Joseph, representing his native Haiti, on Thursday advanced to the semifinals of the 800-meter run at the 12th IAAF World Championships in Athletics at Berlin, Germany.
Joseph, who competed for the Gators from 2001-04 and earned 10 All-America honors, finished fourth in his heat and tied for 12th overall in the preliminaries, clocking a time of 1:46.68. The semifinals take place on Friday.
Former Florida thrower Erin Gilreath finished 25th overall in the qualification round of the women's hammer throw with a toss of 218-10/66.72m to end her run in the IAAF World Championships.
Current Gator jumper Shara Proctor (The Valley, Anguilla) will begin competition in the women's long jump on Friday.
