Soccer's Lindsay Thompson Named to TopDrawerSoccer.com National Team of the Week

University of Florida sophomore Lindsay Thompson makes her first appearance of her career on the TopDrawerSoccer.com National Team of the Week, the outlet announced Monday. She is the second Gator to appear on the team this season, as senior Lauren Hyde was named to the team on Aug. 31.
The Gators opened SEC play last weekend with a pair of home wins. The Gators earned their first overtime victory of the season with a 2-1 OT win over Kentucky on Friday. Both goals Friday were scored by Thompson, including hitting her first collegiate penalty kick in overtime to give UF the win. Thompson scored UF's first goal of the match in the 14th minute off the assist from freshman Erika Tymrak. Thompson now leads UF in goals (6) and points (12).

The Gators now head to the Magnolia State to face a pair of Southeastern Conference rivals. The Gators meet Mississippi State on Friday, Oct. 2 at 8 p.m. (ET) and then plays at Mississippi on Sunday, Oct. 4 at 1 p.m. (ET). Both matches can be heard live on WRUF AM 850 with a simulcast on Gainesville/Ocala Cox Cable channel 946.
