Charlie Strong To Be Inducted Into Hall Of Fame

University of Florida football associate head coach Charlie Strong will be inducted into the University of Central Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame this weekend in Conway, Ark. The Class of 2009 features 10 inductees, bringing the total to 96 members in the school's Hall of Fame. Strong was a two-time first-team All-AIC selection and earned first-team NAIA All-District 17 recognition twice in football and was also a three-year letterman in track for the Bears from 1979-81.
Strong will participate in a plaque ceremony that will take place at 5 p.m. on Saturday in the Hall of Fame Room at Estes Stadium, where each recipient's plaque will be mounted on the wall permanently. This will be followed by a pinning ceremony overseen by UCA Athletics Director Dr. Brad Teague and President Dr. Allen C. Meadors which will occur on the field prior to 6 p.m. kickoff between No. 12 UCA and Missouri S&T at First Security Field at Estes Stadium.
There will be a banquet held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday for the honorees in the UCA Student Center Ballroom and a reception for the inductees, their families and their hosts held on Friday night at Buffalo Alumni Hall from 5-7 p.m.
