Gator Softball Swings for Cancer

The 2010 Florida Softball season is just around the corner, and the Gators are kicking the season off with a bang! The team will host the second annual “Swinging for Cancer” event on Saturday, January 30 at 2 p.m. at Katie Seashole Pressly Softball Stadium. Admission is FREE! Don't miss your chance to get to know the Gator Softball team as they prepare to make another run at the Women's College World Series!
Activities included at the “Swinging for Cancer” event:
- Meet and mingle with members of the 2010 Gator Softball team and other UF student-athletes and coaches!
- Get autographs!
- Watch Gator student-athletes and coaches as they compete against each other by trying to get hits off of All-American pitcher Stephanie Brombacher!
- The first 500 fans receive commemorative Women's College World Series softballs!
- Friends of Jaclyn representatives on-site to answer questions and take pledges (no cash accepted) to benefit the program which pairs children with pediatric brain tumors with athletic teams in an adopt-a-child program to improve their quality of life!
- KidsZone open for kids 12 and under with face-painting, corn hole, games, and more!
- Marketing table will be set up and 2010 Gator Softball posters will be available for fans to pick up.
- Cheerleaders and mascots on-site for photos!
- Softball skills clinic for kids 12 and under!
- Concessions available for purchase.
Event Itinerary:
2:00 PM Concessions available. KidsZone open. Cheerleaders giving temporary tattoos. Mascots available for pictures. First 500 fans receive Women's College World Series softballs.
Mini-skills clinic with the softball student-athletes for kids 12 and under.
2:35 PM Student-athletes and coaches to mingle with fans.
2:45 PM Stephanie Brombacher pitches to UF student-athletes and coaches to see if they can get hits off of her. Point system in place so a winner can be determined.
3:15 PM Softball Players available for autographs on concourse. Tables and chairs set-up.
3:45 PM Event ends
