Gators in the NFL - Divisional Round Update

Of the 30 former University of Florida football players on NFL rosters when the season began, five advanced to the Divisional Round of the postseason. Three former Gators will play for Conference Championships on Sunday.

· WR Percy Harvin, Minnesota – averaged 7.7 yards on three rushes and had one reception for one yard; his two chances for kickoff returns were touchbacks; Minnesota defeated the Dallas Cowboys 34-3; the Vikings last NFC Championship appearance resulted in a loss to Atlanta in 1998
· DE Bobby McCray, New Orleans –started at left end in the 45-14 win over the Cardinals; made two tackles and delivered the hit which briefly knocked Arizona QB Kurt Warner out of the game near the end of the first half; the Saints defense allowed just one third down conversion in 13 attempts; the Saints will host their first NFC Championship game in franchise history when they face the Minnesota Vikings this Sunday
· DT Ian Scott and ILB Brandon Siler, San Diego – both started and made four tackles each; the Chargers defense pressured the Jets offense all day, limiting the Jets to under 100-yards passing, while allowing 169 yards rushing and totaling five tackles-for-loss, four pass deflections, three quarterback hurries and one interception
· CB Lito Sheppard, New York Jets – started and made one tackle in the 17-14 win over the Chargers; the Jets No.1 ranked defense allowed only eight rushing and 124 passing yards in the second half, while also recording six deflected passes, five tackles-for-loss, two interceptions and a forced fumble; New York will travel to Indianapolis to play in their first AFC Championship game since a 1998 loss to the Denver Broncos; New York defeated Indianapolis 29-15 in Week 16 of this season, ending the Colts regular-season NFL record winning streak at 23 games
