Meyer discusses special teams, Demps and practice

Gators coach Urban Meyer addressed the media Thursday evening for the final time before Saturday night's game at No. 1-ranked Alabama.
Here are some of the highlights:
--Special teams played a huge role in Florida's win at Tennessee on Sept. 18 when Omarius Hines picked up 36 yards on a fake punt. Meyer said both the Gators and Alabama are solid on special teams and that could make the difference. "That's going to be a big part of this game,'' he said.
--RB Jeff Demps practiced on Thursday but was limited. "He's probable for the game,'' said Meyer. "He wasn't full-speed.'' Meyer said Demps will test his injured foot again on Friday.
--Meyer said the team had a good practice on Thursday and has turned a corner. "I think we're over the hump of teaching guys how to practice,'' he said.
--Meyer said NT Brandon Antwine and NT Lawrence Marsh are both ready after being slowed by injuries recently.
--Kicker Caleb Sturgis is battling a sore back but is probable according to Meyer.
The Gators leave for Alabama on Friday afternoon. In 11 games all-time in Tuscaloosa, Florida is 5-6.
