Coach Burleigh Previews Homecoming Weekend Matches
Monday, October 11, 2010 | Soccer
University of Florida head coach Becky Burleigh addressed the media Monday morning as part of the Gators' All-Sports Media Day.
Coach Burleigh shared her assessment of last week's action, when the Gators netted a 1-1, 2OT tie at Alabama and a 1-0 loss at Auburn.
She then previewed this weekend's pair of home games, as Florida returns home to play host to a pair of SEC Eastern Division rivals. Action begins Friday, Oct. 15 when Tennessee (7-6-1, 4-1-1 SEC) visits the James G. Pressly Stadium. Match time is set for 5 p.m. (NOTE the early start time). Then No. 18 Georgia (8-2-4, 3-0-3 SEC) comes to town for an Oct. 17 match, which airs live on CSS (Gainesville/Ocala Cox cable channel 259) at 2 p.m. (ET)
Coach also discussed and answered questions about giving up late goals in four matches this year, about preparing for Tennessee and Georgia, about the differences between playing at home and on the road and on the team's moral after giving up late goals.
