Florida Women's Basketball Practice Report, Oct. 12
Tuesday, October 12, 2010 | Women's Basketball
It was an early morning wake-up for the University of Florida women's basketball team on Tuesday, when the Gators began practice on the Terry Frost Practice Court inside the Basketball Complex at 6 a.m.
Fourth-year head coach Amanda Butler gathered the squad before dawn to make-up for what had been a disappointing practice Monday afternoon.
Butler was pleased with the Gators' response to the morning practice, as different players have stepped up their game and intensity each time.
On Tuesday, Gainesville-native Jaterra Bonds earned the Brickhouse Award, given to the player at the end of each practice and game for their effort.
Coach Butler, who described the Brickhouse Award during last week's practice report video, also praised today's effort of newcomers Brittany Shine (Sacramento, Calif.) and Deaundra Young (Titusville, Fla.).
Following Tuesday's workout, Butler also shared some of the areas that have been the focus during the first few practices.
