Media tabs Gators' men to win SEC hoops title

The Florida men's basketball team returns all five starters, boosting optimism that this is the season the Gators can make their first deep run in the NCAA Tournament since winning back-to-back national titles in 2006 and 2007.
A select panel of SEC and national media members evidently agree, tabbing the Gators as the favorite to win the SEC championship in voting released on Monday.
Florida received 13 of 20 first-place votes to win the SEC East and eight of 16 first-place votes to win the league title. Mississippi State is the heavy favorite to win the SEC West, receiving 18 of 20 first-place votes.
The Gators' starting lineup from last season returns intact: G Erving Walker, G Kenny Boynton, C Vernon Macklin, F Alex Tyus and F Chandler Parsons.
Meanwhile, Boynton and Parsons were voted All-SEC second-team.
