Florida vs. Alabama Game Day Information
Saturday, October 2, 2010 | Football
Florida heads to Tuscaloosa where it will meet the top-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide. The Gators head into the game at 4-0 (2-0 SEC) following their 48-14 home win over Kentucky. Alabama also sits at 4-0 (1-0 SEC) after taking a 24-20 decision on the road at Arkansas.
The teams have met in each of the past two SEC Championship Games with the winner (Florida in 2008, Alabama in 2009) going on to claim the national title.
Florida brings winning streaks of 24 regular-season games, 13 road games and 16 regular-season SEC games into the contest.
With Urban Meyer's 100th career victory coming in his 118th game as a head coach last week against Kentucky, he became the quickest to reach the milestone since Bud Wilkinson did so in 111 games in 1957, the fastest ever in the SEC and the second-fastest since 1945.
