Tuesday, October 5, 2010 | Women's Basketball
The University of Florida women's basketball team will play at least 14 televised games during the 2010-11 season, with at least seven more games being broadcast online thru GatorVision.tv, the school announced Tuesday.
As part of the Southeastern Conference's television deals and UF's package with Sun Sports/FOX Sports Florida, Gator fans are guaranteed to be able to watch nearly half of the regular-season games live on television.
All of the broadcasts are scheduled to come during the final half of Florida's 2010-11 regular-season slate, beginning with the Jan. 2nd home game against Arkansas, which will be broadcast live on Sun Sports beginning at 1 p.m. ET.
Other networks carrying Gator games during the 2010-11 season include ESPNU, FOX Sports Florida, FOX Sports South, FOX Sports Southwest, Comcast Sports South, Cox Sports Television and the SEC Network (check www.secsports.com for the entire listing of networks throughout the country).
Both Sun Sports and FOX Sports Florida are available statewide in over 6.3 million cable and satellite homes. Managed by Fox Sports, Sun Sports and FOX Sports Florida are the state's leading television providers of local and regional collegiate sports programming.
The Gators have averaged 14 televised contests per season over the last 15 years and have made 200 appearances on the tube since the 1995-96 season.
Additionally, every Gator game, home and away, is broadcast by the Gator Radio Network on “The Star 99.5” WBXY-FM (99.5), with select regular and post season games simulcast on “105 The Game”, WYGC-FM (104.9).
A number of regular season games will be part of broadcasts carried by members of the Gator Radio Network (check www.GatorZone.com for complete listing). All games are carried FREE of charge on the internet and can be accessed through www.GatorZone.com, the official website of the Florida Gators.
