Women's Golf Travels to Chapel Hill for Tar Heel Invitational

The 23rd-ranked University of Florida women's golf team travels to Chapel Hill, N.C., for the 2010 Tar Heel Invitational that will take place from Friday, Oct. 8, through Sunday, Oct. 10. The 35th-annual tournament, hosted by the University of North Carolina, will be played at the par-72, 6,285-yard UNC Finley Golf Course.
The Gators will face a tough tournament field, with six of the top 10 teams ranked in the Golf World/NGCA Coaches Poll (as of Sept. 29) competing in the Tar Heel Invitational. The competition will boast a predominantly southeastern flavor as 13 of the 18 teams in the event hail from the ACC or SEC. Familiar foes No. 1 Alabama, No. 4 LSU, No. 6 Georgia, No. 7 Vanderbilt, No. 12 Auburn and No. 20 South Carolina join traditional ACC powers No. 3 Duke, No. 10 Virginia, the host and No. 11 North Carolina and No. 15 Wake Forest. Other teams scheduled to participate are: Denver, Florida State, Louisville, No. 16 Michigan State, North Carolina State, Texas A&M and No. 14 Tulane.
Florida's lineup will be headed by junior Evan Jensen (Belleair, Fla.) who is at the top of the rotation for the first time this fall and the seventh time in her career. She will be followed by senior Jessica Yadloczky (Casselberry, Fla.), sophomore Mia Piccio (Bacolod City, Philippines), junior Andrea Watts (Bradenton, Fla.) and sophomore Isabelle Lendl (Goshen, Conn.) who returns to the lineup after sitting out the Mason Rudolph Women's Championship two weeks ago.
The last time the Gators played in this event was in the 2003 Franklin Street Trust Invitational where they were the runners-up to the Duke Blue Devils.
Florida tied for 10th place at the Mason Rudolph Women's Championship in their preceding tournament.
Lendl will be the first to tee off for the Gators at 9:45 a.m. on Friday. Watts will begin at 9.54, Piccio at 10:03, Yadloczky at 10:12 and Jensen at 10:21.
