Meyer updates Brantley's status and other tidbits

In his final press conference before the Gators host LSU on Saturday night, Florida coach Urban Meyer provided an update on starting quarterback John Brantley.
Brantley has sore ribs following a hit he took on a fourth down run late in the loss at Alabama.
“Brantley's good,'' Meyer said. He later added that quarterback Trey Burton and tight end/quarterback Jordan Reed also threw passes in practice this week to give Brantley more time to heal.
“He was limited mostly throwing, so we would have another guy go in there and throw the ball for him a little bit because his ribs were so sore, but he's fine now,” Meyer said.

Other updates:
--Meyer said FB Steve Wilks, who has not played due to a back injury, has been cleared by doctors and is expected to play against LSU.
“That's good news,'' Meyer said. “He is a guy who gets in your way and blocks you.''
--Meyer said RB Jeff Demps remains slowed by a sprained left foot and is expected to be at about the same tempo as against Alabama.
--Meyer said there is no update on Chris Rainey's status with the team. Rainey has been away from the team since his arrest last month following a dispute with his girlfriend.
--Meyer said DT Brandon Antwine (shoulder), OL Matt Pachan (wrist), WR Quinton Dunbar (hamstring) and WR Chris Dunkley (hamstring) remain out for the game against LSU.
--Meyer said to expect some personnel changes on the punt-return defense following a disappointing performance last week at Alabama.
“There are going to be some fast guys on there,'' he said.
