In the wake of Florida's 34-31 win over Georgia on Chas Henry's game-winning field goal in overtime, the biggest story the past couple of days has been the reaction to TV footage of Georgia defensive coordinator Todd Grantham taunting Henry with a choking gesture.
On the SUN Sports broadcast, it appears Grantham also yelled at Henry.
Grantham finally spoke about the incident Tuesday night to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
“As a competitor, sometimes you get caught up in the heat of the moment,'' Grantham said. “I wish the situation hadn't happened. It was a tough, hard-fought game. They won it, and I'm ready to move forward and finish out the year strong.''
According to the AJC, Grantham met with Georgia athletic director Greg McGarity about the incident.
As for an official apology to Henry, Grantham said: “I've kind of basically said what I'm going to say.”
