Florida defensive coordinator Teryl Austin was released from a Tampa hospital Tuesday evening after being diagnosed with a mild case of gastritis.
Austin wasn't feeling well at Monday's practice and was later admitted to Tampa General Hospital, where he spent the night and underwent a battery of tests for abdominal pain through Tuesday afternoon.
Austin is in his first season with the Gators after spending three seasons as the Arizona Cardinals defensive backs coach. He was on Arizona's staff in 2008 when the Cardinals lost to Pittsburgh in the Super Bowl at Tampa's Raymond James Stadium, site of Saturday's Outback Bowl between Florida and Penn State.
Austin started his coaching career in 1991 as a graduate assistant at Penn State under Nittany Lions coach Joe Paterno.
