Urban Meyer is spending this week preparing to coach his final game at Florida on Saturday in the Outback Bowl against Penn State.
Meyer spent part of last week in Bristol, Conn., at ESPN headquarters doing a segment on one of the sports network's college football shows.
How will Meyer spend his time in the future?
Well, he has said he wants to make sure he takes more time to enjoy his family and he also wants to remain involved in college football. There is speculation that Meyer will land at ESPN, which would allow him to do both.
“I hope he never becomes Dr. Urban," Penn State coach Joe Paterno said Tuesday, referring to former Notre Dame coach Lou Holtz's ESPN persona Dr. Lou. “We can only handle one doctor at a time. But I think that it's great. That would not be my style.''
Meyer took his family to New York last week and while there someone from ESPN called to invite him to its studious in Connecticut. Meyer enjoyed his time there.
"We went and had three of the greatest days we've ever had together and (ESPN) called up and said, 'Why don't you drive up for the day?' So, I brought my son and he loved it,'' Meyer said. “What I found out, what a place, what great people.
“I'm not concerned about that until after [the Outback Bowl]. But I'll have to do something. If Coach Paterno doesn't hire me, I'm going to have to [find a job].''
