Gator Softball Opening Day!
The 2010 Florida softball season is underway with the team on the road competing in the USF Wilson-DeMarini Tournament. The Gators have been picked to win the SEC East Division once again this year. Head coach Tim Walton and his coaching staff return four All-Americans as well as several other key players and welcome an outstanding freshman class which promises to have an immediate impact.
The Gators bring the action back to Gainesville this week with Opening Day on Wednesday, Feb. 17 when they take on Jacksonville at 5 p.m. Florida follows up Opening Day with its only home, regular-season tournament of the year, hosting the Gator Softball Lipton Invitational Feb.19-21.
Last season, Gator fans broke several attendance records at Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium including the single-day, season average, and total attendance marks. The team is looking forward to playing in front of the home crowds again. Help us “Pack Pressly” on Opening Day and give the Gators a great home crowd to begin their home season!
