Friday, February 12, 2010 | Baseball
With the curtain ready to be raised for its season opener against USF next Friday, Feb. 19, the seventh-ranked Gator baseball team and coaching staff will have a "Meet the Team" autograph event on Saturday afternoon.
After an intra-squad scrimmage that will begin around 2 p.m. at McKethan Stadium, head coach Kevin O'Sullivan, assistant coaches Craig Bell, Brad Weitzel and Don Norris, as well as the players, will be on hand to sign 2010 schedule posters at Alligator Alley. This event will start at 4 p.m. prior to the Florida-Xavier men's basketball game in the Stephen C. O'Connell Center which begins at 6 p.m.
The area of Alligator Alley, located between Gates 3 and 4 of Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, offers fans an opportunity to get autographs from Gator teams, shoot baskets and have their faces painted. Fans can have caricatures drawn and can watch college basketball games on televisions set up around the stadium. Special concessions offerings will be available as well. The event will begin at 4 p.m. and will conclude 20 minutes before tip.
Gator Baseball season-ticket information is available by calling the Gator Ticket Office at 1-800-34-GoUF. Florida Farm Bureau Insurance is giving fans the opportunity to watch the Gators for free at McKethan Stadium.
