Allie Will Named SEC Women's Tennis Freshman of the Week

The University of Florida's Allie Will (Boca Raton, Fla.) was named the Southeastern Conference Women's Tennis Freshman of the Week, the league office announced on Wednesday.
Will has compiled a combined 5-0 singles and doubles record during the opening week of dual match play, helping the Gators advance to the round of 16 at the ITA National Team Indoor Championships.
In doubles, Will teamed with senior Marrit Boonstra (The Netherlands) and posted a 3-0 record, which included an 8-0 upset victory over BYU's 18th-ranked team of Jones and Price at the No. 1 doubles position.
In her collegiate dual match debut, Will provided the clinching doubles point victory at the No. 1 spot, en route to Florida's season-opening sweep. She also clinched the Gators' dual match against No. 31 Florida International in the second round of the ITA National Team Indoor Championships, defeating Chrissie Seredni, 6-1, 6-1, at the No. 2 singles position.
Will sports a team-best 22-3 singles record this season, while compiling a 13-3 record on the doubles court, tied for the most wins by a Gator this season.
Florida next plays host to Troy on Sun., Feb. 7 at Linder Stadium at Ring Tennis Complex. First serve is scheduled for 1 p.m. and admission is free.
