Isabelle Lendl Named SEC Golfer of the Week

University of Florida freshman Isabelle Lendl (Bradenton, Fla.) was named the Southeastern Conference Women's Golfer of the Week, as announced by the league on Thursday. Lendl was recognized for her performances at the Central District Invitational and the Kinderlou Forest Challenge.
Lendl tied her sister and fellow UF golfer, Marika, for first in the Central District Invitational, Feb. 22-23, at the River Wilderness Country Club in Parrish, Fla. Isabelle was named the official tournament medalist in a scorecard playoff. Both Lendl sisters shot a four-under-par 212 for the tournament, finishing four shots ahead of third place Kelli Shean of Arkansas.
Isabelle was two strokes behind Marika going into the final hole and made a birdie on the par-four 18th hole to shoot three-under in her final nine holes, as compared to Marika's one-under.
The freshman led the Gators to their first tournament win of the year, finishing 29 strokes ahead of second place TCU. She set career marks in low round (67), 36 holes (141), tournament score (212) and finish (T1) at the Central District.
Isabelle also led the squad at the Kinderlou Forest Challenge, where she finished in a tie for 20th with a 227 (73-80-74 / +8).
Her recognition marks the first for a Florida Gator golfer this season.
