Chicago Bears Make Major Wright Seventh Gator Taken in NFL Draft

Former Gator safety Major Wright (Miramar, Fla.) has been selected by the Chicago Bears in the in the third round of the NFL Draft. He is the seventh Gator taken in this year's draft, highest total in the nation, and the fifth defensive player from Florida to be drafted in the first three rounds.
Wright was Chicago's first draft pick in the 2010 draft. Wright is the first Gator safety taken since Reggie Nelson went 21st overall in the 2007 draft to the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Wright appeared in all 41 games during his three years with the Gators, starting 33, and made one of the greatest interceptions in Florida history, collecting a goal-line pick against Oklahoma in the 2008 BCS National Championship Game.
