No. 20 Lacrosse Heads to New York This Weekend

The No. 20 Florida lacrosse team is traveling to New York this weekend for a two-game road trip against the Le Moyne Dolphins and the Colgate Raiders. The Gators will play in Syracuse at Le Moyne on Friday at 4:00 p.m. and travel to Hamilton to face Colgate on Sunday at noon.
Florida (8-4, 1-2 ALC) has won five of their last six games and is coming off a 13-11 win over No. 14 Penn State. The win over the Nittany Lions marked the first American Lacrosse Conference victory in the program's short history.
The Dolphins (7-3) lost their first three games of the season, but have won seven straight contests entering Friday. The Raiders (6-6, 2-1 Patriot League) lost 12-8 to Navy in their last outing.
The Gators' offense will have to be on their game Friday, as Le Moyne ranks in the top 10 nationally in scoring defense allowing just 7.92 goals per game. UF has averaged 13.50 goals scored per game, led by Ashley Bruns' 38 goals and 28 assists. Florida has seven players with over 10 goals this season.
In their last six games, the Gator defense has been outstanding, holding opponents to just seven goals per game. Goalie Cara Canington has dropped her goals against average down to 9.66 for the season and has 74 saves with a .416 save percentage. The Dolphins and Raiders each score less than 12 goals per game for the season.
