University of Florida freshman Kitty Cullen (Rockville, Md.) has been selected to the weekly WomensLacrosse.com Honor Roll following her performance at last week's American Lacrosse Conference Tournament in Columbus, Ohio.
Cullen led the Gators with nine goals in two tournament games. She was also selected to the 2010 ALC All-Tournament Team, along with teammate Jamie Reeg (Atlantis, Fla.).
In the ALC quarterfinals, Cullen helped Florida jump out to a 9-0 lead over No. 20 Johns Hopkins, scoring four goals in the first 22 minutes of the game. She added two more goals in the second half as UF upset the Blue Jays, 14-3. Cullen's six goals tied the single-game record set by Ashley Bruns (Ellicott City, Md.) back in March. Cullen scored six goals on just six shots, and also recorded two ground balls in the win.
The Gators lost to No. 10 Vanderbilt in the semifinals on Friday, but Cullen again paced the team with three goals. Florida lost 16-9 to end their season.
Cullen finished the season third on the team in points (37) and goals (31), and fourth in assists (6). She had two game-winning goals and was second on the team with seven free-position goals.
