Softball's Enea Named USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year Top-10 Finalist

University of Florida senior Francesca Enea (Woodland Hills, Calif.) was named one of 10 finalists for the USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year Award, the Amateur Softball Association (ASA) of America announced on Wednesday.
The award, which is considered the most prestigious honor in Division I women's collegiate softball, is designed to recognize outstanding athletic achievement by female collegiate softball players across the country.
Enea leads the Gators and the Southeastern Conference with a .872 slugging percentage and 20 home runs, also a UF single-season record. She broke the SEC career home run record on Sunday with the 61st of her career and ranks third with 220 career RBIs. Her 64 RBIs this season is second in the SEC and currently tied for third on UF's single-season list. Last season, Enea was a top-25 finalist.
The top-10 finalists represent 10 schools and five different NCAA Division I Conferences. The list is comprised of five seniors, one junior, one sophomore and three freshmen. Three players from the SEC are on the top-10 list.
The winner of the 2010 USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year Award will be announced prior to the start of the World Series action at the ASA Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City, Okla., on June 1.
