Florida Selected To Play Host to 2013 NCAA Gymnastics Regional

Collegiate regional championship gymnastics competition is returning to the University of Florida in 2013. The Stephen C. O'Connell Center will play host to the NCAA Southeast Gymnastics Regional Championships on April 6, 2013. The NCAA Gymnastics Women's Gymnastics Committee announced yesterday the regional and NCAA Championship sites for 2011, 2012 and 2013.

This will be the 11th NCAA Regional held in the O'Connell Center. Six teams will by vying for a finish among the top two in the regional field to advance to the 2013 NCAA Championships, set for April 19-21 in Los Angeles, Calif. UF has won the last two NCAA Southeast Regional titles it has played host to, with the 2005 title starting a string of six consecutive NCAA Regional titles for the Gators.
"We are excited to have the NCAA Southeast Regional return to the O'Connell Center,” UF Head Coach Rhonda Faehn said. "Our gymnasts love to compete in front of the home crowd. It's also a wonderful chance for fans of gymnastics to see the nation's top competitors."
