Five Gators Chosen To SEC Freshman Academic Honor Roll

Five members of the Gator baseball team were recently named to the Southeastern Conference Freshman Academic Honor Roll, as Cody Dent (Boynton Beach, Fla.), Michael Heller (Bradenton, Fla.), Brian Johnson (Cocoa Beach, Fla.), Austin Maddox (Jacksonville, Fla.) and Hudson Randall (Atlanta, Ga.) were recognized for their work in the classroom. Head coach Kevin O'Sullivan's club tied for the second-most recipients in the league.
Each student-athlete must 1) have a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or above at the nominating institution; 2) be on scholarship or a letterwinner; 3) have completed 24 semester hours of non-remedial credit at the nominating institution; and 4) have been a member of the varsity team for the sport's entire NCAA Championship segment. The 2010 SEC Freshmen Academic Honor Roll is based on grades from the 2009-10 academic calendar.
