Former UF Throwers Conclude European Championships

A pair of former Florida throwers and NCAA Champions wrapped up their competition at the 20th European Athletics Championships on Tuesday in Barcelona, Spain.
Former thrower Mariam Kevkhishvili (Tbilisi, Georgia), a five-time NCAA Champion and an eight-time All-American, placed sixth in her qualifying flight to advance to the finals of the women's shot put. Kevkhishvili was 10th overall in the finals with a toss of 17.87m/58-7.50.
Former thrower Evelien Dekkers (Etten-Leur, Netherlands), the 2010 NCAA javelin champion and a three-time All-American, placed 19th in the qualifying round of the women's javelin with a toss of 46.37m/152-1.
