Gator Football Names Team Captains

Five Florida football players have been named captains for the 2010 season, University of Florida football head coach Urban Meyer announced today. The captains were voted on by their teammates.

Senior safety Ahmad Black (Lakeland, Fla.), redshirt senior linebacker A.J. Jones (Tampa, Fla.), senior defensive end Duke Lemmens (Westlake Village, Calif.), senior center Mike Pouncey (Lakeland, Fla.) and senior defensive end Justin Trattou (Ramsey, N.J.) were named team captains by Meyer.

The No. 4 Gators will kick off the 2010 season against Miami University at 12 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 4, at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium. The game will be televised live by ESPN.
