
Florida Soccer Featured on Wednesday's Edition of GatorZone on SUN Sports

The No. 7 University of Florida soccer team will have multiple segments on the Wednesday, Sept. 1 GatorZone television show which airs on Sun Sports (Gainesville/Ocala Cox Cable channel 48 or 748) at 5:30 p.m. The show replays on Thursday, Sept. 2 at 9 a.m.
Redshirt senior Ashlee Elliott (Corona, Calif.) will be featured in a story about her comeback from an anterior cruciate ligament tear of her left knee that occurred almost exactly one year ago today in a match against USF. Elliott is a two-time All-Southeastern Conference first-team selection and was a 2008 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA)/adidas All-Southeast Region second team selection.
Other segments in the show featuring the Gator soccer team include an interview by Larry Vettel with UF Head Coach Becky Burleigh about the team's opening four matches and a Coaches Corner featuring Assistant Coach Alan Kirkup. Coach Kirkup will review different drills that the soccer team uses to during practice.
On Friday, Florida makes its only home appearance for the month of September when Jacksonville (2-2, 0-0 Atlantic Sun) visits Pressly Stadium. Match time is set for 7 p.m. The match can be heard on WRUF AM 850, by simulcast on Cox Channel 946 (Gainesville/Ocala) or on www.GatorZone.com with Adam Schick and Matthew Stubbington covering the action. The first 1,000 fans will receive a free 2010 Gator Soccer replica jersey t-shirt courtesy of Gatorade. Also, the first 200 youth soccer players Friday will receive orange pompoms. Throughout the match Youth Soccer Month T-Shirts will be tossed throughout the crowd.
