Four members of the University of Florida women's tennis earned a place in the top-100 of the ITA National Preseason Singles Rankings that were released Friday. The Gators also landed two doubles teams listed among the top-20 and had one newcomer placed in the inaugural National Preseason Freshman Singles Rankings.
Sophomores Lauren Embree (Marco Island, Fla.) and Allie Will (Boca Raton, Fla.) headline UF's appearance in the national chart, ranking No. 4 and No. 5, respectively. The rankings are the highest the either has been. Sophomore Caroline Hitimana (Waterloo, Belgium) came in at No. 77, while junior Joanna Mather (Duluth, Ga.) is No. 98.
Newcomer Sofie Oyen (Leopoldsburg, Belgium) is ranked No. 2 in the inaugural listing of the country's top singles freshmen.
On the doubles court, the Gator pair of Embree and Mather is the nation's No. 6 team, while Oyen and Will is No. 18.
