The Gators' new football coaching staff is all together on campus today working on recruiting.
I had a chance to sit in briefly on a presentation they gave. As they all stood at the front of the room and introduced themselves to some prospective players and their families, I couldn't help but think how impressive a group of coaches Will Muschamp has assembled on his inaugural coaching staff.
And like I said earlier in a tweet, if they ever decide to have an arm-wrestling tournament, I'm going with assistant defensive line coach Bryant Young. He looks like he could still crush a few NFL running backs.
With that said, let's take a look as some current links around the Internet related to UF sports:
--The big game here in Gainesville tonight is the Florida-Arkansas men's basketball game at the O'Connell Center. Tip-off is at 8 p.m. Click here for a preview story from the Orlando Sentinel on Florida coach Billy Donovan liking what he saw from his defense in Thursday's win at Auburn.
--Former Gator Brett Nelson is in his first season at Arkansas as an assistant under former Donovan assistant John Pelphrey, in his fourth season as the Razorbacks' head coach. Click here for a story by Kevin Brockway of the Gainesville Sun.
--Former Gators DL Justin Trattou is one of seven players from Florida schools playing in today's East-West Shrine Game in Orlando. The game kicks off at 4 p.m. at the Citrus Bowl. Click here for more.
--Gators DB Ahmad Black and P Chas Henry make ESPN.com's All-Senior, All-SEC Team. Click here for a blog listing all the players.
--Former Gators offensive coordinator Steve Addazio continues to fill out his first staff at Temple. He made a cool hire on Friday by bringing in an assistant he once coached in high school. Click here for story in Philadelphia Enquirer.
In case you missed it:
--The Providence Journal recently did a feature story on UF swimmer and Rhode Island native Elizabeth Beisel, who barring a surprise will be one of the top swimmers for Team USA in the 2012 Olympics. Click here for the story.
