The William & Mary Tribe defeated the College of Charleston 4-3 on Sunday in the consolation round of the ITA Kick-Off Classic played at Linder Stadium at Ring Tennis Complex.
College of Charleston started the day off strong as Christin Newman and Kelly Kambourelis defeated William & Mary's Lauren Sabacinski and Marlen Mesgarzadeh 8-6 to clinch the doubles point.
Newman then went on to claim the first singles point to make the score 2-0, but Mesgarzadeh kept the hope alive with a win at the No. 3 spot and Anik Cepeda evened the score at 2-2 with her victory at the No. 4 position.
William & Mary's Hope Johnson and College of Charleston's Katie Lee won their respective matches to make it 3-3.
The match was ultimately decided by a three-set thriller in which W&M's Katie Kargl defeated Charleston's Kelly Kambourelis 7-5, 5-7, 6-2.
