Gator Ticket Office Announces Refer a Friend Program, Group Nights, Rowdy Reptiles Bus to Tampa
Tuesday, October 11, 2011 | Men's Basketball
The Gator Ticket Office has introduced several programs to encourage fans to bring their friends along to catch Florida men's basketball action this season. For more information or to order tickets, contact the Gator Ticket Office at 352-375-4683 ext. 6800 or toll-free at 800-34-GATOR (42867).
Florida returns two starters from its SEC Championship 2010-11 team, senior Erving Walker and junior Kenny Boynton. The backcourt duo were the Gators' top two scorers from last year's squad as Walker averaged 14.6 points and Boynton posted 14.2 per game, while both earning second-team All-SEC recognition in 2011.
In addition to the returning backcourt players, UF also brings back nearly its entire bench from the 2011 squad. Its top-scoring reserve, junior Erik Murphy (4.3 ppg), 2011 SEC All-Freshman honoree Patric Young (3.8 rpg) and fellow sophomore Scottie Wilbekin (1.6 apg) all bring a measure of experience, while Casey Prather (two starts) and Will Yeguete (2.6 rpg) each played about seven minutes per game as freshmen last year.
Among its newcomers this year, Florida has redshirt junior transfer Mike Rosario, who averaged 16.7 points as a sophomore at Rutgers in 2009-10. Cody Larson provides frontcourt depth after redshirting as a true freshman last season. Florida also welcomes Billy Donovan's 14th McDonald's All-American signee in freshman guard Bradley Beal, who joins 6-foot-10 forward Walter Pitchford to make up UF's freshman class.
In addition to its always-challenging SEC schedule, Florida faces a non-conference slate that ESPN.com rated 10 out of 10 for toughness and the best non-conference schedule in the SEC.
Refer a Friend
The Refer a Friend program allows season ticket holders to be entered into a drawing to have up to two of their season tickets compensated by referring a friend to purchase season tickets. Current season ticket holders can refer multiple new purchasers and will receive one entry per total order.
When new season ticket purchasers contact the Gator Ticket Office, they can share the name of the friend who referred them with the Customer Service Rep who takes their order. The friend will then be entered into the drawing.
If you have already made a new season ticket purchase this season, you may contact the Gator Ticket Office and share the name of the friend who referred you. This can be done over the phone or by emailing your name and the name of the friend who referred you to the marketing office at promotions@gators.ufl.edu with the subject “Refer a Friend.”
The drawing for the season ticket refund will be held the week of Nov. 1, and the winner will receive a refund for up to two season tickets.
To enter by mail, send a stamped 3x5 card with your name, address, daytime telephone number, and email address to MBB Season Ticket Refer a Friend, c/o UAA Marketing Office, 1 Gale Lemerand Drive, Gainesville, FL 32611. Submission of an entry by mail will automatically enroll you in the Season Ticket Refer a Friend contest. Entries must be postmarked by October 27, 2011 and received by Monday, October 31. No purchase necessary.
