Former Gators Kevin Carter and Nat Moore to enter Florida-Georgia Hall of Fame
Tuesday, October 11, 2011 | Football, Scott Carter
Since 1996 when Florida's Steve Spurrier and Kerwin Bell joined Georgia's Vince Dooley and Buck Belue as the inaugural inductees into the Florida-Georgia Hall of Fame – they call it the Georgia-Florida Hall of Fame north of the border – four individuals each year are honored for their contributions to one of college football's great rivalries the day before the annual clash between the Gators and Bulldogs in Jacksonville.
On Oct. 28, former Gators defensive lineman Kevin Carter and running back Nat Moore take their turn at the podium as the latest inductees from UF. The Georgia inductees are former linebackers John Brantley (no relation to UF's quarterback) and Bill Saye.
Carter is one of the best defensive players in Florida history, earning consensus first-team All-American honors as a senior in 1994. In his four seasons, Florida was a perfect 4-0 over the Bulldogs, winning SEC titles in 1991, '93 and '94.
Moore spent two seasons at UF before going on to a successful NFL career with the Miami Dolphins. As a senior in 1973, Moore was a first-team All-SEC selection and broke the UF rushing record at the time with 845 yards.

Moore remains involved with Gator football as the pre-game radio host. Moore split his two games against the Bulldogs, losing 10-7 in 1972 and winning 11-10 the following year.
The 16th Annual Ruth's Chris Steak House Florida-Georgia Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony is scheduled at 12:30 p.m. on the Friday before this year's game. The event takes place at the Pepsi Plaza outside EverBank Field's south end zone.
