Muschamp says competition to start at Auburn between Brissett and Driskel remains open

The competition between true freshmen Jacoby Brissett and Jeff Driskel to start at quarterback on Saturday night at Auburn remains unsettled.

Speaking to reporters on Wednesday's SEC media teleconference, Gators coach Will Muschamp said both are getting equal reps and that Driskel's ankle – he missed the LSU game due to an ankle injury suffered the week before when he came in and replaced injured starting quarterback John Brantley against Alabama – is no longer a factor in the decision.
“I've got my ideas of what's going to happen but we're going to work through today and go from there,'' Muschamp said.
Offensive coordinator Charlie Weis said Tuesday that he is preparing as if both will play and that he'll have both ready to start by kickoff. Muschamp is looking for more separation before making a final decision.
“I'd love for one of them to step forward and be the guy," Muschamp said. "From an experience standpoint, from a knowledge-of-the-system standpoint, they're so similar. Their skill set is so similar so it's not like we're having to drastically change what we do when one young man is in the other game opposed to another.''
