Tuesday, October 18, 2011 | Women's Basketball
John “J.B.” Barrett was named the Head Athletic Trainer for the Florida women's basketball team on Oct. 18, but he's far from being a newcomer on the Gainesville campus.
Barrett, Assistant Director of Sports Health, is in his eighth year working at UF, with the 2011-12 season being his first with the Gator women's basketball team, having spent the previous seven seasons with the Gator baseball squad.
In addition to attending every practice, workout and game for the basketball team, Barrett, who is responsible for the prevention, care and rehabilitation of injuries, also will be the supervisor of the graduate assistant athletic trainer for UF's women's tennis team. Barrett will continue to oversee the management of the baseball and softball facility athletic training rooms.
