
Gators Take Course Friday for SEC/PAC-12 Challenge

The No. 9 ranked Gators head out for the third time of the 2011 fall season, when they take to the course for the SEC/PAC-12 Challenge this weekend. They are coming off of a 13th-place finish at the 2011 Mason Rudolph Fall Preview in Franklin, Tenn., where the team finished with a tournament score of 905 (+41).
The SEC/PAC-12 Challenge is a three-day event that will take place from Friday Oct. 21 until Sunday Oct. 23 at Holston Hills Country Club in Knoxville, Tennessee. There will be 18 holes played each day with UF set to tee off on hole 10 at 10:20 a.m. on Friday. Tee times begin at 9:30 am. on Saturday. The final round on Sunday will be a shotgun start set to begin at 10:30 a.m.
Freshman Camilla Hedberg looks to continue her hot start to her collegiate career after she finished tied for both third and 22nd individually at the Cougar Classic and Mason Rudolph, respectively. Hedberg captured the school record for lowest tournament total with a score of 208 (-8) in her first collegiate tournament. The last Gator to win the SEC/PAC-12 Challenge was Sandra Gal (210, -3) in 2007.
The Gators will compete against 23 other schools in the 2011 Mason Rudolph Fall Preview. The 24-team field is comprised of 12 schools from the SEC and 12 schools from the PAC-12. Fourteen teams in the tournament field are ranked in the top 25 according to the Golf World/NGCA Coaches Poll, including the top-four teams, UCLA, Southern California, LSU and Alabama.
